Change is the only constant in life: we live in a complex, busy, and changing world that presents a variety of challenges, as well as opportunities, in our everyday lives.  The ways we deal with these challenges are greatly affected by our biological and psychological makeup, as well as our cultural, economical, social, and family backgrounds and support systems.

As cognitive behavior therapists (CBT), my treatment approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients resolve current problems and change long-standing behavioral patterns on their own. I work collaboratively with you to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment to empower you through increasing awareness and exploration of personal and professional issues.  Together we help you make conscious decisions toward a healthy, mindful life.  I focus on growing resiliency and take a strengths-based approach that is appropriate and unique to your needs.

I enjoy working with adolescents (teens), young adults, and adults in one-to-one or group settings. I work with people on issues that include: stress, anxiety, depression, anger, perfectionism, relationship problems, past history of neglect and/or abuse, family-of-origin issues, family conflicts, multicultural issues, academic/profession related issues, self-esteem, addiction, and parenting challenges. Following is a list of some of the outcomes you can expect while working with me:

  • Define your life goals and strategize in making your passions into reality
  • Improve the way you communicate in order to address challenging situations in academic, family, and professional settings
  • Successfully navigate transitions through adulthood for better relationships at home and on the job
  • Clarify vision and forge new direction toward your goals
  • Understand your perfectionism and make it work for you
  • Define your values and make a conscious connection to them
  • Resolve conflicts and strengthen your relationships with family and/or intimate partners
  • Reconnect to your origins and differences with less struggle or conflict
  • Turn your anger toward positive outcomes, such as cooperation, leadership, optimism, creativity, and ambition
  • Understand sources of your depression to move beyond your depression
  • Develop skills to cope with your anxiety
